Payment & refunds

Last updated 26 September 2026

The short version: Sword in Board accepts payments on Pinhold via Stripe. Not happy with a Supporter Upgrade purchase? Email us within 14 days for a full refund, no questions asked. Buying it does not stop the 180-day inactivity clock — see below.

Who takes the payment

Stripe. When you buy the Supporter Upgrade you leave Pinhold for Stripe's own checkout page. Your card details are stored via Stripe.

Stripe is a payment processor with its own privacy policy, separate from ours, covering what it collects to run the checkout page and process the charge — billing details, fraud checks, and the like. Read it at stripe.com/privacy. We do not control what Stripe keeps or for how long. As an honest disclosure: purchases via stripe automatically become connected with a customer ID, which normally includes the name, contact info, and billing address provided for refund and processing purposes. Card numbers or other info about the payment method other than which one was used is not provided to Sword in Board.

Refunds

Not happy with a Supporter Upgrade purchase, for any reason? Send an email to swordinboard@gmail.com within 14 days of purchase, from an email associated with passphrase recovery for the board or from an email associated with the purchase and we will refund it in full. No questions asked, no further proof required — just tell us which board.

A refund takes the purchase back off the board: the wall picture, the plate, the board shape, the Supporter note and the badge all revert to what a board looks like before anyone buys the Supporter Upgrade. If you want to keep a copy of the wall picture you uploaded, save it yourself before asking for a refund — Pinhold does not keep a separate copy once it comes off the board.

After 14 days we may still refund a purchase at our discretion, but it stops being automatic. If something about the payment itself went wrong — charged twice, wrong amount, that kind of thing — tell us any time and we will sort it out regardless of the date.

Buying the Supporter Upgrade does not change the 180-day rule

Every board is still subject to the 180-day inactivity deletion in the User Agreement, upgraded or not. Paying for the Supporter Upgrade dresses the board up; it does not keep it or change how it functions. If the board is deleted, the purchase goes with it and is not refunded on that basis — deletion after 180 days of silence is a rule every board agrees to already, not something the purchase creates an exception to.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If the change is significant, we will put a notice on the sign-in screen.
